| Solution to high iPhone prices is not to buy one |
| Source:Vancouver Sun |
Mon 7th Jul 2008 |
| Canadian technophiles who have been anxiously waiting for what was last year's most anticipated gadget south of the border are understandably up in arms.
Their reward for being forced to sit on the sidelines while more than a million Americans were able to buy Time magazine's invention of the year for 2007 -- the Apple iPhone -- is a just-for-Canada price that is much higher than American phone companies are offering.

| Confessions of a Bluetooth convert |
| Source:News.com |
Mon 7th Jul 2008 |
| Thanks to California hands-free phone law, I have been dragged into Bluetooth land. It's not somewhere I really ever saw myself landing. I never really saw a need; I don't use my cell as frequently as anyone I know, and my car tends to sit in the garage undriven for days, sometimes weeks.

| Samsung Glyde Mobile Phone Review |
| Source:LogicTV |
Mon 7th Jul 2008 |
| Samsung's first haptic touchscreen phone has arrived come courtesy of the Samsung Glyde. The Glyde is a sleek device with a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard, 3G connectivity, and built-in GPS. While it is not in the same league as the Apple iPhone, it competes nicely against other keyboard slide out phones such as the LG Voyager, also on the Verizon network. Let?s take a look to see how it did.

| Silenx Ixtrema Review |
| Source:OCC |
Mon 7th Jul 2008 |
| "When you take a look at the cooler from an overhead view, you will be able to see that Silenx has decided to polish the top to add a little bit of cosmetic value to the cooler and add its company name, that way you will know exactly who is cooling your computer. You can see that all four of the heatpipes that pass through the entire cooler are evenly spaced as they pass through the the large number of fins mounted on them, which will ensure uniform cooling all over the cooler. The base of the cooler is very interesting as the copper heatpipes are visible and have direct contact with the IHS of the processor, allowing for a better transfer from the processor to the heatpipes."

| Arctic Cooling Breeze |
| Review:techPowerUp |
Mon 7th Jul 2008 |
| Arctic Cooling is known for its CPU and VGA coolers. The company first made a name for itself with a line-up of low cost CPU coolers, which offered same or better performance than the OEM coolers at a fraction of the noise level. Nowadays the company makes much more than just CPU Coolers. A large part of their business is done with OEMs, as you will see their VGA coolers on many different graphic cards on the market today. We get a chance to take a look at a nice little gadget from them today - the Arctic Cooling Breeze.

| Vox V1 750GB Ext. Drive |
| Review:Pro-Clockers |
Mon 7th Jul 2008 |
| With the transition from hard copy to digital media, the data that we store on our computers can be some our most precious belongings. In my regular nine to five I come across so many people who want some way to save their memories. In most cases backing up to a CD-R would be more than sufficent. But as the conversation rolls on the addition of music and movies always seems to come up as data that needs to be backed up. There is a slim to none chance that a simple disk media will be enough to store all one wants. This is when external drives come into play. With externals ranging in storage from about 80Gb to well over terabyte capacities there is surely one to fit the needs of the most avid media collector.

| Silverstone Kublai 3 Case |
| Review:Pro-Clockers |
Mon 7th Jul 2008 |
| The world is cluttered with the dead and dying remains of poorly designed, mass-produced OEM pc cases, but you won?t find one at my place. As a hardware enthusiast I expect more from my cases. There has to be plenty of space inside them. They have to be well-made. Cutting edge innovation isn't necessary, but I do prefer to see some thought going into the making of a case. To be honest, I'm quite tired of the cookie cutter cases some of the industry has been churning out over the last few years.

| VisionTek Radeon HD 4870 512MB CrossFireX Review |
| Review:Club OC |
Mon 7th Jul 2008 |
| I always love it when new items come into the market. Nothing is better than new CPU's or new Video cards to get people excited about computers. It's especially exciting when the two largest gaming video card manufacturers release new products within a week of each other. The last few weeks have been very exciting ones with all sorts of video card reviews popping up all over the net. Forums have been flooded with new ammunition for the long debate; which video card is better? I don't think it's possible to answer that question and I'm not going to try. I'm just going to add more benchmark fuel to the fire and let you make up your own mind.

| Diablotek GeForce 8600GT 1GB Graphics Card |
| Review:OCIA |
Mon 7th Jul 2008 |
| Nowadays, while they have started to make some higher-end graphics cards as well (for example, a 9600GT 1GB), Diablotek still has some good mid-range offerings, like their 8600GT 1GB that we have for review today. The new trend these days seems to be to go overboard with our PC components and buy high-end everything, when all you are going to do is chat and check your email. The 8600GT is for those among us who realize that onboard video just isn?t enough, but anything else wouldn?t be necessary as often is the case in a HTPC. The extra 512MB of RAM over reference should give a cheap performance boost to iron out kinks, but again, nothing more than you need.

| Apple TV review |

| It seems most have underestimated the value of Apple?s latest product offerings, namely Apple TV. Majority of the conversations are centered around the Macbook Air, it?s understandable why, the advantages of the Macbook Air are as obvious as they come. But what about the Apple TV? Try asking your coworkers or friends about it, and I assure you, you?ll get one of two responses, ?What is that?? and ?Yea, I heard about it, but I don?t see what the big fuss is about?.

| AMD Phenom 9950 and 9350e: Ups, Downs and CnQ |
| Source:Lost Circuits |
Mon 7th Jul 2008 |
| AMD just released three new Phenom processors, geared towards the high end in the form of the X4 9950, and the low end, using a 65W power envelope as selling point under the model numbers X4 9350e and X4 9150e. At 2.6 GHz, the X4 9950 is the fastest Phenom ever released, surpassing the 9850 Black Edition by 100 MHz and finally fulfilling the promise made with the early 9900 that never saw the light of the channel. At 65 W TDP, the "e" series sets new records in actual power draw for quad core CPUs but are the numbers low enough to make up for reduced performance when it comes to actual energy efficiency?
Finally, with a little help from Anand's Article, we were able to shed some light on some of the erratic performance numbers that have made our Phenom benchmarking life miserable from the beginning. We might actually have figured out some of what is going on... and share it!

| Tagan IB-390 Internal / External Hard Drive Enclosure Review |
| Source:Hardware Canucks |
Mon 7th Jul 2008 |
| The IB-390 challenges everything you may think you may know about enclosures as it is not just an external enclosure but an internal one as well. Yes, that is correct; this ingenious enclosure can be carried from system to system just like a standard external enclosure. However, when you are finished "sneaker net'ing" data back and forth you can plug this unit into its 5.25" bay docking station and voila you now have another internal drive. Zero clutter on your desk and perfect integration is the name of the game here.
